The number of patients who walk in to Newmarket OPD Phlebotomy has increased on average of 57% over the last 6 months and has reached a point whereby they can no longer keep both staff and patients safe within current guidelines on COVID-19 as they only have a small team with limited space and they cannot accommodate this increased level of activity.
As a result they need to implement a booking system which will be on a first come first served basis and patients will need to ring up to book an appointment slot.
Newmarket Hospital are offering 116 appointments per day – Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 3.45pm and Fridays – 72 appointments from – 8.00am – 12.45pm and the patient will need to ring ahead on 01638 558442/558445 to book an appointment.
Patients who turn up will be asked to leave and given the telephone number to ring.
Newmarket Hospital completely appreciate that this isn’t ideal and apologise for any inconvenience this is going to cause, but they just cannot cope with the numbers walking in.
